We have worked so hard on improving our skills at Cheerlading, and have been selected by our club to represent them in USA in 2012!

First let me thank you for taking the time to read this letter.  Let me introduce myself my name is Katy Willcock, and I am the mother of two girls Hannah and Gemma.  We are all of us competitive cheerleaders with Zoo Athletics on the Gold Coast of Australia, and we have a big year ahead of us in 2012!

In our respective teams, we have taken home first place trophies from every event this year, including overall Grand Champions of the Australian All-Star Cheerleading Federation Queensland State Championships, a major achievement.

As a club, at this event, we were also recipients of the Spirit Award, given to Clubs that show outstanding sportsmanship and respect for not only their own teams, but all other competitors as well.  It is a major goal of Zoo Athletics to foster team spirit, and teach our athletes to encourage, respect and support each other.

With regard to 2012, we have two very exciting events lined up!

A note from Hannah……

Dear whom it may concern,
My name is Hannah and I’m 14 years of age and I am a cheerleader at Zoo Allstars. I have been cheering for 3 years now, in all the competitions this year our team has taken out first place and also State Champions.  At the start of the year I couldn’t do anything that I can do now, Zoo athletics has helped me so much to achieve many goals, in tumbling, stunting and jumping. The coaches are very supportive, encouraging and help you out whenever you need it. As a result of our achievements this year we have received a bid to go to Orlando, Florida in 2011 and we would really like it if you could support us in sponsoring us or making a donation to help us get there, as it is so expensive to fly to America.

Hannah and Gemma have been selected to represent Zoo Athletics in a world class cheerleading spectacular event, the AmeriCheer International Championships, held at Disneyworld in Florida in March 2012!

This opportunity will help with self esteem and provide a growth opportunity that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. Whilst in the USA, myself and my daughters will be an ambassador for not only our teams but also for Australia.

Hi,
My name is Gemma and I am 10 years old. I am a cheerleader from Zoo Allstars. This is my third year cheerleading and it is the most amazing thing in the world to me. I am close to achieving my back handsprings. I have improved a lot on my scorpions(check out my photo) and front handsprings. I am working hard towards going to America tofulfill my dream as traveling with cheerleading. Going to America would mean becoming a better cheerleader and connecting better with my team. But there is just 1 problem, our team doesn’t have enough money to get there and back. I have wanted this for a long long time and it would mean so much to me and my team if you could donate some money to put towards getting to go to America.

As for myself, I have been selected to compete in an International Cheerleading event in the USA in April 2012 as a representative of the Downunder Spirit AllStar team. This team is chosen from athletes across Australia, and provides me with the opportunity of a lifetime where I can travel to the USA and compete against the best teams from the USA.


As you can imagine, this is a difficult endeavour to finance for one family!  Along with our fundraising efforts of selling chocolates, and running sausage sizzles, we are asking for sponsors to make a contribution towards the costs of these trips.

A major source of funds comes from the kind contribution from people like yourself and your contribution no matter how big or small is an important part of our fundraising.

AmeriCheer administers over 60 exciting competitions and 200 educational summer camps each year throughout the United States.

The AmeriCheer InterNational Championship competition is held every March at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida.

This exciting event attracts over 4,000 competitors and 8,000 spectators annually!
